Ruka is located in natural beauty just below the Artic Circle and close to the Russian border. This is one of Finland's top ski resorts due to the recent investment in infrastructure and the development of a pedestrianised centre. High standard accommodation with ski-in/out, good shops and restaurants together with activities not usually found in the alpine resorts, such as snowmobile safaris, make Ruka a good choice for families.
